DIY Details
Here is how I used the card box.
For our wedding we decided not to do the traditional guest book. Instead we did a time capsule guestbook. This is a guestbook that allows your wedding guests to write a note to the bride and groom that will be opened by the couple on a wedding anniversary in the future.
I purchased two locking, rotating wedding card boxes, The Perfect Card Box, from Etsy. You can find it {here}. It holds 4 pictures, 5 if you use the cover. I fell in love with the box because it locked and it rotated! So I got the idea to use it as a time capsule where my guests would write us a note or sentiment that we would open in either 1 or 5 years.
The boxes came in black and white. My wedding colors were purple and gold. I purchased the black box with the intent to spray paint it gold but when it arrived I actually loved it and figured that it would break up all the purple and gold at the wedding.
Note – these are all old images from my iphone taken when I did the time capsules about a year ago and was sending pictures to my bridesmaids. 🙂
I used this purple and gold card stock purchased from Michaels through my wedding in several DIY projects. The exact name is the Recollections Signature paper in purple and gold. You can find it {Here}.
I got some of our engagement shoot pictures printed and applied four of them to the purple and gold cardstock.
I purchased stensils from Michaels and used gold and purple glitter to add the numbers 1 and 5 to cardstock. Purple 1 to gold paper and Gold 5 to Yellow paper. I cut everything to fit the specs of the windows in the cardbox and inserted them.
I had our initials made into gold glitter decals for the top of the card box. Before inserting them I placed the gold and purple card stock under the glass and applied the decal directly on the glass. I also had our monogram placed on pens and note cards. In the ended I decided to round the edges of the note cards. They looked cuter. The smaller decals pictured were used on another DIY project.
Finally, here is a video that shows the rotation of the time capsule guestbook.

I plan on giving away one of these card boxes as I originally purchased 3 but only used 2. Stay tuned for a giveaway and a chance to make your own time capsule or use it as a card box!
Happy Planning Coordinated Brides!
Hi Jules,
If I got the awesome chance to win this box I would use it for my guest to place these suggestion cards I've made. The suggestion cards have blanks to them and my guest will fill them in. For example one says "I wish Thania and Jonathan Nothing but _____" or another one reads "Thania amd Jonathan should name it their children _____ and ______" it's just soemthing fun for our guest to do! And they might be quite fun to read afterwards. Of course I'll bling out the box, I'm currently obsessed with glittery/blingy stuff. Haha! Or maybe I'll be like you who just loved the box the way it came. I'll probably incorporate pictures from our engagement shoot in the box as well. Thanks for all you posts on IG you keep us motivated!! Xoxoxoxo Thania……

Hi Jules!
If I were to win this beautiful keepsake box. I would use the picture frame box as my wedding card box. I would bling it out to match the bling that I would have through out my wedding. or as a wedding advice box that we would open on our Anniversary night while we enjoy our wedding cake!
Hello All,
I instantly fell in love with this genius and beautiful idea the second I saw it on Instagram!! It fulfills many purposes for me, specifically the following: 1) I plan to use it at my wedding at our "Walk Through Memory Lane" station, which is going to be a gorgeous set up of our photographs from when we began datingnall the way up to our wedding day. The photographs are going to be displayed in frames hanging from a custom made frame rack, organized by year in which each year will have a theme. A total of 8 years! My fiancé and I love photos and sentimental things, and this photo box is perfect for us! The photo box will be serve as a time capsule on the outside. However, I might use it as a card box at the station OR a message box for our guests to leave us a note! 2) after the wedding, I plan to always have this displayed in our home and as a message box for my husband and I to write each other love notes, in which we will read weekly! It is truly a neat idea what you have created! And I hope we are able to carry it on at our wedding and into our lives! Thank you for the opportunity! Much love!! IG name: ritanajor10
XOXO
hi,
I will be using this box for my gift cards that I received on my wedding and also for the dollar dance that way people don't have to pin in all the money on my dress or at least some of it goes in the box. my ig name is mayra_r7
Thank you 🙂
This card box would serve a great dual purpose at our wedding: a sturdy & secure card box & beautiful way to display a few engagement pics!! And unlike other card boxes it can be used as a keepsake to display our wedding photos in our new home.

Hi beautiful! I would definitely bling it out with royal blue and gold sparkle; all of the sides would be different, I would also use our engagement pictures. The box would be used as a lock box for our guests to write advice to us. And whenever we are going through hard times we will pull a note from the lock box. It will be used not just as a decorative piece at the wedding but also as inspiration during our rainy days. That way the guests actually have a chance to inspire us as husband and wife beyond the wedding.
Thanks for the opportunity.

Where do I began ! I will be getting married in July of this year at virginia beach convention center and I am absolutely ecstatic about it . I've always wanted to have DIY thigs in my wedding but my creativity wasn't that good but I would love this box for my reception for anyone and everyone just to put love notes in and cards . I have a lot of family and I value everything that they tell me and this would be an amazing thing to have . My colors are black white and royal blue and this would absolutely go perfect with everything .we recently took engagement pictures so those would definitely go on the outside of this box I truly hope that I win . This is so,etching that I would always remember and myself and my husband will always remember if we want to get lifted up and have daily advice and wisdom to always go to the box and GOD .
GOD BLESS
CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN JULIETTE!!!
While we will be physically present with loved ones on our special day (June 7th), we will unfortunately be without the physical presence of our grandmothers and my brother. This card box will be used as an “In Memory” box to highlight their spiritual presence on our special day. Each of our grandmother’s and my brother’s pictures will be displayed on the box and the last display will state “If heaven weren’t so far away, we know that you will be here today” elegantly decorated. In a frame next to the box, we will invite our friends and family to jot down a wonderful memory they have of each of us over the years, which will be stowed away in the box. On our first anniversary, we will open our box and read the wonderful memories our loved ones chose to share. All while honoring the ones that could not be there because they are in a better place. Each year, Michael and I will jot down our memorable moments and every anniversary, we will open our box and cherish the memories we have made together!

IG: msjenej If I won this box, I would use it as a card box at the wedding reception. I would paint it silver and and some bling and use it as a simple card box.
I would use this for my card box at my upcoming wedding reception (6/20/15). I would add some personalization and our photos. IG: nikkirakowski 🙂
If I were to win this lovely box I would use it for advice from my guest ( tips for the bride and groom). My future husband and I would read them while on our honeymoon. I would decorate it to match the theme of my wedding #magmilewedding it would add the perfect touch! @luvlife25
Hey @thecoordinatedbride,
My name is Bre'onna and my fiancé's name is Joshua. My Instagram name is @apurpose4rm_god. If my fiance and I were to win this beautiful box. I'd first bling it out with red black and white our wedding colors and add some of our engagement photos to it. Our theme is the great gatsby, so I'd definitely give it that 1920s vintage look. We would use the box as a date suggestion box. I'd print custom cards for the guest to write on & place in the box. After the wedding we'd have it as a picture display in our living room. Oh I hope we win this box. Wedding date March 21st, 2015!!
