Kelsey and Brian said their vows in front of close family and friends, tucked under thousand-year-old pine trees with the only other surrounding sounds being a gently flowing creek and birds chirping in the distance. It was a perfect day according to her Kelsey’s friend and photographer, Astray Photography. The energy and group of people that were in attendance supported the love these two so deeply shared.

Kelsey and Brian knew early on that they wanted to get married in the woods since they both love nature and camping. They found a beautiful log cabin in the middle of the mountains in Idyllwild, California.  They had their closest friends and family stay in nearby cabins so that they could spend time together over the weekend.

To keep the theme organic with the natural surroundings, they chose deep maroon and navy tones with lots of greenery. “Lots of our decor was wooden to keep in line with the forest theme and we accented with gold… because gold is awesome!” says Kelsey of their decor selections.  Being a coordinator in the wedding industry, Kelsey has a passion for event design.  She designed her wedding from start to finish.  The couple were very sensible about their spending with many of their purchases being incorporated into their home decor.  Other fixtures such as their white oak tables were labors of love from their family.  The groom kept the spirit of DIY by brewing a pilsner and a red ale for the reception.

From the details prepared for the reception dinner to the romantic first look in front of the cabin doors, we are blown away by how inspiring their wedding was. Hope you enjoy the photos.
