To say that everything went perfectly right on Kelsey and Chris’s wedding day would be to provide a falsehood, but to say that it was the perfect day, would be an absolutely 100% true statement. As Kelsey describes it, it was the “Best. Day. Ever.” Of course, she didn’t plan for rain. She planned on a sunny day and to get married beneath the large oak tree on the property of the Barn at Price Mountain Farm. Mother Nature had a entirely different plan though. It rained….and rained… and rained. But despite the rain, it couldn’t have been a more beautiful wedding day.
How The Couple Met: “Chris and I have known each other for a few years through mutual friends. Actually quite a few of his guy friends are married to my girlfriends. I was having some issues with my heating and air and that’s what he does for a living so naturally I asked him to come over and help me understand what I was doing, lol. After that day he had asked me if I had ever need any help around the house like cutting the grass or other stuff I couldn’t do because I was working all time and a single parent just to give him a call because he would be more than happy to help. We started casually talking and secretly seeing each other so 1. My daughter wouldn’t have any idea and 2. None of our friends could get involved in case it didn’t work out in the end. I would say by the time we “came out” to our friends I knew I wanted to marry Chris. WHICH IS SO CRAZY FOR ME. Anyone that knows me knew I ALWAYS said I never wanted to get married. Ever since I was a little girl I just was never the type that dreamed of my wedding. So to have this feeling to want to marry someone was a huge deal and for it to happen so quick with someone I never ever expected was what was so crazy BUT his sweet southern ways just won my heart. He’s literally the other half to my heart. As cheesy as that sounds I’ve never felt more compete than I am I now being with him. He balances out my crazy controlling self with his sweet patience. My grandmother was an extremely important person in my life. My father stepped out of the picture when I was younger and my grandparents didn’t hesitate to take his place. She passed away a little over 3 years ago so Chris never got to meet her. He knew how crazy that it made me that I finally had found “the one” and she couldn’t meet him.”
How He Proposed: “It was January 17th and Chris told me he wanted to take me somewhere he had been talking about for month to show me how beautiful it was this time of year. I honestly had no freaking clue. As we’re driving forever away I’m getting irritated because I wanted out of the truck and my back hurt. Next thing I know we’re driving up the mountain in Chatsworth, GA and he pulls over at this look out. We get out and it really was the most beautiful view. It was a crazy clear day so we could almost see into Tennessee. He opens a box in the back of his truck and pulls out 2 purple balloons and a pad of paper (how I didn’t see a box of balloons I’ll never know! lol). He told me to write a letter to my grandma and we would release the balloons so she could get my letter in heaven. I had a rough Christmas not having her here this year so I figured he was just being sweet cause he knew how much I had been missing her. As I’m crying my eyes out writing this letter to my grandma he’s also writing one to his grandma. Then he pulls out a white balloon with a letter already attached to it. He said he had written one to my grandma already just to thank her for putting me in his life. As I’m reading the letter I can barely see because I’m crying so hard!! At the end it said ” If you could look down on us at this moment as I pray she says yes!” And it obviously didn’t register because I was SHOCKED he was down on one knee asking me to marry him!”
