Kevin and Devon met on the dating website Plenty of Fish. They had an amazing wedding at The Watson House in Emerald Isle, NC. This was a destination wedding for them as they live in Cary, NC. Devon’s parents live along the coast and they decided to get married on the water. A terrible thunderstorm rolled through between the ceremony and reception. The clouds can be seen in the pictures on the dock. The rain started shortly after those pictures were taken.
The couple incorporated a few personal touches on their wedding day that were both traditional and unique to them. Kevin and Devon wrote and exchanged cards and letters before the ceremony. They were delivered by a groomsman and bridesmaid so that they didn’t see each other. Both wrote their letters the morning of the wedding. The bridesmaids’ bouquets had a childhood picture of each of them tied with ribbon.
After taking a picture with their respective wedding parties on separate levels of the venue, Devon surprised Kevin by using a fishing pole to lower a love note to him that was shaped like a fish and had their usernames on it. Salute to Plenty of Fish!!
The wedding band was incredible and led the tone for a very active, fantastic reception. Kevin and Devon were on stage singing and dancing on and off throughout the night.
For the garter toss, Kevin tried to use the elasticity of the garter to shoot it at the single guys. When that failed, he picked it up and hurled a perfect strike into the chest of a single guest.
After going through a sparkler exit, the couple walked down the Watson House’s long dock and left by boat. When the couple left, the bridesmaids all jumped into the venue’s pool.

What a gorgeous house for a wedding venue. The backdrop is amazing. And such a cute couple. I love the dress!!
Her colour motif and the bridesmaids’ dresses are actually my planned colour for my own wedding. Beautiful!
