This Vintage Aquamarine styled wedding was inspired by the meaning within this well known stone. Aquamarine has long been related to calmness, peace, protection, luxury and good luck. All of these elements have been coordinated into a wedding setting.
Larz Anderson House is located in the heart of Washington Dc. This venue is known for its amazing architecture and history. The collaborators behind the shoot utilized the gold touches within the rich structure that’s not only breathtaking but fascinating to the eye, while also including the vintage and blue elements that surrounded this luxurious mansion.
The grand entrance was designed to showcase the couple that loves the formality of having a grand entrance but in an modern setting. The horse was all white and sure to turn heads as the bride approached, including feathers as her crown and hydrangea mixed with roses as her garland. This carriage was ideal for the excitement ahead and the vintage touches in the moments to come.
The floral arrangements were organic including a palette chosen to bring in light energy and fun within the Aquamarine pallet while keeping the overall design modest and clean. The table setting featured additional colors including blush, blue accents and gold touches. Enhancing this design was vintage place cards and menus on each setting of the tablescape. These cards were held in place with use of original Aquamarine crystals as a gesture to the guest favors. Finishing with an aesthetically pleasing blue chair outlined in metallic gold trim for seating. The invitations suites were handcrafted and designed to include the visual of the venue with vintage gold wax seals finished with a royal vintage outlining within the envelopes.
Keeping the water element from the stone, the placement of the table and lounge area were done intentionally to align with the water. The Larz Anderson house features a buddha statue near their courtyard pool where the modern styled lounge area was placed. The lounge area included floral columns and comfortable seating on the soft velvet blue sofa. The dinner style was designed with heavy hors d’oeuvres, which was ideal for this intimate setting. Selections included small delightful crab balls topped with a specialty drizzle sauce and charcuterie cones.
The bride wore a crystal gown with a gorgeous cathedral veil. This gown was coordinated with sheer textured sleeves and blush diamond shoes. Her jewelry, embellished with blue stones, complemented the soft style waves designed for her hair. Setting her skin was neutral and soft toned makeup components including touches of gold to enhance her features.
The outline of this story is to bring peace, a clear mind and a calm heart. I’m sure the world can use a lot of great energy and we know that 2021 couples are excited about the calmness that awaits them in the coming months. I’m hoping that we were able to capture a sense of joy in the years to come and bring in more calming elements to the wave of weddings.
