Spicewood Vineyards is a beautiful breathtaking vineyard just northwest of the city of Austin in Texas Hill Country. It coordinated as the perfect backdrop for this romantic styled proposal & engagement shoot. The vineyard is a quiet little oasis in the middle of Hill Country and the proposal was simple yet beautiful.

The collaborators behind the shoot coordinated a luxury styled picnic that incorporated pink, purple, cream, and light blue to set the mood for the intimate and sweet marriage proposal. The rest of the Vineyard, including the barrel room, was utilized as the engagement shoot backdrop. The pickup truck setup was a last minute addition that the planner, Candidly Kiki Photography, curated.  It was not part of the original vision, but she wanted a spot that was a little more casual. The engaged banner hanging in the back window of the pickup is surrounded by a blanket, pillows, and flowers. It’s the perfect touch to a beautiful day.

As for the color theme, the planner did something unusual. She asked each model to bring their own clothes but requested they bring what made them feel romantic. It was a gamble that paid off. They weren’t fighting the fit of pre-supplied clothing but instead were comfortable and almost carefree.  It really showed in their movements and poses. The newly engaged fiancée is wearing a white lace dress with brown cowboy boots, while the groom-to-be is wearing a blue dress shirt, tan slacks, and brown dress shoes. The attire set the mood for a relaxed southern engagement.

The one thing the Candidly Kiki Photography was strict on was that she wanted models that were actual couples. She wanted them to be knowledgeable about each other’s movements.  She did make an exception for one of the model couples because they are great friends, and boy, do they have chemistry!
