Jony and Alistair had an emotional and soulful garden wedding in Auckland, New Zealand. They reached out to photographer Songbirds Photography only one month before their wedding day. Jony’s mother had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Her one wish was so see these two get married.
The getting ready and ceremony was such an incredible celebration with the bride’s mum by their side the whole time.
Just 3 days after receiving their full gallery, Jony’s mother Luna passed away. They filmed a beautiful viewing session with her, which is something that will be cherished forever.
After their first dance, everyone thought they were going to do a Filipino traditional dance where guests leave cash at their feet, instead, they surprised everyone and shaved each other’s heads in solidarity with their mum and all those fighting cancer. Guests still left cash at their feet and together, they raised over $2000 and donated it to the Cancer Society.
