This adorable Cactus Inspired backyard party was inspired by Leah, the niece of photographer Victoria Petrovesky. She shares all of the details below.
It’s been a pretty wild time we’re all going through. Emotions are high. My niece Lea is only six years old and she understands everything ….but not exactly. She tries to and she was okay with not having a party this year. That didn’t sit well with me. This little girl has been pulled out of school and has had her entire world turned upside down. I had to find a way to celebrate her.
Lea loves cacti. She loves the round ones. I wanted to focus on a feminine cactus event that maintained a modern feel. I love the pairing of the terracotta with almost anything but especially sage and pink. The beautiful plates came from The Little Artist and were the inspiration for the whole look of the lunch.
There’s nothing that makes me happier than a pretty tablescape so I focused on details. Cactus shot glasses, pink Himalayan salt shot glasses, sage drinking glasses, terracotta bowls. The florals from PAVAL Floral were absolutely stunning and coordinated with the vision perfectly. Sharp Balloons provided the amazing balloon cactus. The food from Heirloom was delicious and on theme. Janice Wong never disappoints with her desserts. She made the cutest cactus macaroons and rose gold drip cake.
At the end of the day, my niece was smiling. She was happy. She felt celebrated and that’s all that I wanted. I hope this inspires you to have a little backyard birthday. We all need a little love.
