This “Ray of Sunshine” styled wedding was inspired by the color yellow. Tira, owner of Tira Lynn Events, a boutique wedding and events planning company in Baltimore, MD, has always wanted to highlight the color yellow in a wedding setting to show couples that you could be bright, bold, and flirty, yet still have elegance exude from your event. The shoot was originally scheduled for April 2020 before COVID erupted and shut the world down, and before the announcement of the Pantone 2021 Color of the Year, PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating. Yellow is an underused color and its brightness can be overwhelming if you do not incorporate it properly. The right balance of the color yellow can lend to a bright and fun event, just like a ray of sunshine!

From Tira Lynn Events

The shoot was held at Liriodendron Mansion in Belair, MD on a sunny, yet windy, day. The photographer Kenny Clapp of Clapp Studios and cinematographer, Chrissy of Forever Cottman Films captured a beautiful love story.

We incorporated fun elements like the bicycle, adorned in a variation of yellow florals, cake popsicles and bright cocktails from a local non- alcoholic mixer company based in Baltimore, MD. Beau Décors did not skip a beat, as they coordinated the florals with colors such as corals, pinks, and orange. The multi-tiered cake, provided by Cakes by Lala, was positioned outdoors and stood alone where its base was drenched in yellow florals.

We showcased elegant, yet simple wedding gowns from Elite Secrets Bridal. And the gentlemen wore gray suits with subtle touches of yellow in the ties. The suits were from Christopher Schafer Clothier,

When it came to the décor, we used linen from BBJ Linen to add texture and not fight against the bold colors. We included napkins with a yellow design and placed with the handmade plating by Something Vintage Rentals, as well as clear lucent flatware and yellow goblets. We topped the plates with menu cards that the talented Type A Invitations created in a swell press, that coordinated with the invitation suite, which had a bold envelope liner. To complete the table setting, we incorporated white velour chairs trimmed in gold from Nostalgia Event Rental. Hair stylist Tracy of House of Lady and makeup artist Taylor, of Taylor Simpson Artistry did an amazing job on both of the female models.

Temps are still chilly here on the east coast but this styled wedding was just what we needed to appreciate the sunshine!
