Nearing the 1 year anniversary of the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, San Diego-based wedding coordinator Rachel Welland with Bliss Events and San Diego-based photographer Billy Economou with BE Studios had a creative brainstorm about their engaged clients and how they have been coping in the past year. The two collaborators wanted to honor all the engaged couples in 2020 and 2021 who have endured the typical pandemic adjustments with grace, grit, and optimism. From instantly becoming home-officemates, to exploring new hobbies together, to postponing their weddings — engaged couples have had quite a dramatic year!
This Pandemic Engagement Photo Shoot features real-life couple Jaclyn Sanders and Tanner Bryant showcasing “The Greatest Hits of Couples in Quarantine”, including: doing a puzzle… baking sourdough bread… binge-watching TV and eating popcorn… adopting a dog… using hand sanitizer… FaceTiming with family… scootering and skateboarding… working from home… getting houseplants… and having food delivered to their front door.
The experiences of being an engaged couple during a pandemic have been forever immortalized!
