Italian wedding photographer Marilisa Spinazzola of Amarilis Photography latest project is titled “Tainted Love”. This very ambitious project tackles the three overwhelmingly sensitive issues of our current times, contamination, isolation and lockdown.
Thanks to the use of simple and everyday materials, Tainted Love was coordinated around an ecological concept but enhanced with a new vision. The predominant material used was plastic, which when used in its various forms takes on a poetic meaning. The concept was conceived by 4 professionals in the wedding sector who, supported by a highly qualified team, in synergy, strongly believed in the revaluation of disused elements, giving them new life: RECYCLING.
The location chosen was an industrial archeology site, located on the Apulian coast, which in the 1960s was one of the largest cement plants in Southern Italy. Never before would anyone have thought of making a wedding live in an abandoned factory, telling of pure love in a contaminated world.
The mood of the styled shoot is decidedly modern but with a touch of glamor in the details of the set-up and clothes and rock in the couple’s affinity. The highlights of the story were the first look, ceremony, lunch, portraits of a couple, cake, and ends with a romantic getaway by car. The goal was to raise awareness in today’s society, increasingly oriented towards consumerism and purely instrumental appearances, not to underestimate the negative implications that this careless attitude will cause.
Demonstrating that even just by using elements such as plastic and discarded oil drums you can create an elegant and refined style. Be inspired!
