Coordinating the right colors and décor elements can instantly transport you and your wedding guests to another place and time.  That was the goal for this intimate Spring Wedding Styled Shoot.  The vision for this styled wedding was to create the look and feel of sophisticated charm and romance using inspiration from one of New Orleans’ most historic neighborhoods, The French Quarter, and Pantone’s 2021 colors of the year, ultimate gray and illuminating yellow.

From Event Designer Black Orchid Events

The historic gardens and rich architecture at Meridian House provided the perfect setting for this styled wedding. We wanted to provide our couple with a romantic escape into the mid-19th century. Details like the classical Louis XVI architectural symmetry and original features such as a Mortlake tapestry made this property ideal for a timeless wedding shoot.

Along with the natural beauty and history of the venue, the décor added the perfect touch to set the mood. Lush greenery and foliage coordinated with various shades of yellow and ivory florals adorned the ceremony space.

Our groom looked dashing in his classic “ultimate gray” inspired suit and “illuminating yellow” boutonniere.  The bride’s look was as romantic as the setting, with a lace top wedding dress, featuring a deep plunge neckline, and soft off-the-shoulder sleeves. Let us not forget the bright and vibrant wedding bouquet, combining yellow and ivory blooms and green foliage.

The table setting presented a fresh, timeless, and vintage feel that reminds us of the vibrant and romantic French Quarter neighborhood. The opulent hanging florals; the vintage touch provided by the base plate and china setting; the amber-colored glassware; and the classic wooden chairs complimented the magic of the Meridian House gardens.

We loved how this styled wedding made us feel like we were in a different place in time. With small details and the right location, couples can make their dream wedding a reality without the hustle and bustle of leaving their hometown. You can see that in the charm and the warmth of the décor; it is almost as if you were in a historic building facing the banks of the Mississippi River, with all its romance.

If you are looking to transform your space to the wedding of your dreams, we hope that you have found some inspirations in this styled wedding. Along with the natural beauty and history of the venue, the décor added the perfect touch to set the mood. Lush greenery and foliage paired with different shades of yellow and ivory florals adorned the ceremony space.  Enjoy and be inspired!
