This colorful and trendy Autumn in styled wedding had the aim of celebrating tattoos as opposed to hiding them. In the past, tattooed couples were a fringe element in wedding style, but the fact is, most twenty- somethings have a tattoo and we wanted to celebrate the art!
So many fun details were incorporated into this styled wedding to try to capture the many sides of the wedding party’s personalities from the super trendy horse trailer bar from Wandering Mare with their signature Blueberry Mojitos (recipe available on request) on the golf course grounds to the beautiful bride’s suite at Weaver Ridge Golf Club. The custom cookies with the dress design, the Weaver Ridge logo, and champagne bottle were made by the very talented Lisa from Baked Blessings. We kept the florals from LeFleur bright and bold to match the couple’s personality and coordinated it with simple place settings so as not to draw attention away from the florals. The cake was designed by Liv’s Bakes to fit into the couple’s theme of bold and trendy.
The highlight of the styled wedding is the bride’s wedding dress and reception pantsuit from Cloud Nine Bridal Boutique. The dress, Marlow, by Maggie Sottero of Sottero & Midgely, was the perfect pick for Katie’s figure and taste. The pantsuit from Sweet Pea and Sunshine Studio is a great modern trend toward a more comfortable reception and was so gorgeous on the bride!
Although this is a styled wedding, our couple is a real couple and quite accomplished. The “bride”, Katie Alvarez, a first generation American whose roots are from Yurecuaro, Michoacan, is working with autistic children and is a Doctoral student in Special Education at the University of Oregon. The “groom”, Daniel Bellamy, whose roots are from England, has studied piano at Carson-Newman University and has two masters, Jazz Performance and Classical Piano Performance from The Graduate School at Illinois State University. He is currently attending the University of Charleston for his masters in Business Administration. Sofia Altamiranda, our “bridesmaid” was born in Venezuela and became a US citizen at 16. She is studying chemistry at Florida International University.
As an experienced photography team at Studio Blunier, we strive to highlight the trends we have seen throughout our 15 years in the wedding industry and what is up and coming! As you can see, we have highlighted multi-cultural and tattooed weddings in this styled wedding and cannot wait to see where this takes us in the future! -Photographer: Studio Blunier
