Anthony and Khalilah had a glam Spring wedding at the Diplomat Golf Resort and Spa in Florida earlier this year.  They dated for 5 years before Anthony proposed and the pair have a beautiful daughter.

From The  Coordinated Bride, Khalilah:

I first met Anthony AKA Tony at the Fontainebleau Hotel. I was walking out of LIV and he was standing at the entrance with a few of his friends. I saw him looking at me through my peripheral view but tried to ignore it. He was able to catch my attention calling out to me but I continued walking; acting like I didn’t hear him. So as I walked back into LIV his friend approached me and basically did the talking for Tony. Once his friend finished I looked at him and asked him, “ Are we in High School?” He laughed and I walked away once my friend came to get me. On the way out Tony caught up with me again and he asked to take me on a date and I quickly said my number while Tony fumbled for his phone to input my number. Since then, it’s be the best blessing to our family!

The Proposal

I had just came back from Atlanta and before I left kept telling me that we need a date night.  When I returned he wanted us to go out for an early mother’s day dinner. So, I obviously agreed but I felt like there was something up his sleeve. So the day finally comes for our date and I asked Tony where are we going for dinner; Tony replies that we were going to Chili’s on South Beach. So I said to Tony, why are we going to South Beach Chili’s when there’s one just around the corner?  What was so different? His response was that they have a better menu etc. So I told him that I might as well change my outfit and put some sandals on since it wasn’t anything fancy, but Tony insisted that I keep on my dress and heels. We dropped off our daughter to his mother’s house and I could tell that there was something up from the way that she was looking at me.  We finally get to South Beach and he parks quite a distance from Chili’s – which made me think that it wasn’t Chili’s after all. He takes my hand and walks me up to Prime Italian. I looked at him with the biggest smile because I knew something was up. We get seated and I see Tony disappear and he’s speaking to the waiter, he comes back and we are talking and then we order our meals. Then Tony asks if we can take a picture and he asks the waiter to take it. So I’m like really right now, in front of everyone? He takes me over to a section of the restaurant and I just see Tony start kneeling down and the waiter is there in the background recording and the waiter is crying at the same time because he sees my face. Tony then asks me for my hand in marriage and by this time I’m balling! Of course I said YES!!!!!

The Wedding

My vision for the wedding was a travel/carnival theme. I wanted an island feel mixed with what we love to do most and that’s travel. My colors were blush, Tulip, coral. I wanted an ombre look for the bridesmaid dresses.  The joy of planning was seeing all your visions come together within the planning, from colors, to the theme, the venue, food, dress. The downfall was planning and seeing that everything you envisioned comes together once the day has come. Making sure every piece of inspiration is added to the BIG DAY!

Advice for fellow Coordinated Brides

I was always told especially by my photographers AVD to smile at all times during the wedding because the wedding pics show all facial expressions.

I cannot say any more how impressed and smooth my wedding day was with my photographers and planners. AVD pics made everyone in my wedding party feel comfortable, involved everyone, polite, personable, funny, entertaining with great sense of humors, they made taking the pictures effortless and fun. Everyone complimented how awesome AVD pics was during the wedding. Thank you AVD pics. Words cannot explain how thankful we were to have you capture our biggest day.

The Design group Miami hands down made my wedding more than what I expected. I was so taken back when I saw the ballroom. My guests still till this day cannot stop talking about how breathtaking TDG Miami made everything look. The whole staff is remarkable, Jean, Freddy, Dionne, and Christa. Thank you guys for making our wedding day Unforgettable.
