Mr. D. Clark is so in love with Brittany. They selected a waterfront Houston venue that is both romantic and exclusive.  Their navy blue and pink blush blended well with their personalities.  The groomsmen and bridesmaids came to celebrate!  The ceremony took place at the perfect time of day overlooking Clear Lake.

The reception was brought to life when the full bridal party was escorted into the ballroom with one of the greatest second line bands in the South.  The vibe of New Orleans filled the place.  The party only grew stronger as loved ones gave their toasts and the DJ kept the dance floor full.  The night continued with plenty of photo ops with family and friends!

From The Coordinated Bride Brittany

Years after we met through mutual friends and after I had just given birth to our son, a lot of my family visited to see the baby – or so I thought, not knowing my husband had told everyone to come because he was going to propose. So as I stuff my face with Oreos (I know horrible timing lol) laying in the hospital bed. He says out loud that he had something to say. Then he gets on one knee and begins to confess his love for me. I’m completely in shock, telling him to stop playing. I looked down and saw the ring and said yes.

My Husband and I originally wanted to do a destination wedding but we knew that we wouldn’t be able to convince all of our family to come. Family is so important to the both of us that we couldn’t imagine having our moment without the ones who meant the most to us. We came across the perfect venue, Waters Edge, that was able to give us the destination feel that we both wanted but was able to cater to our family in a way that travel wouldn’t be a burden. We didn’t really have a theme in mind but I knew that I wanted this chic look. I then passed along my vision to our wedding planner, Aiyesha, who put together our design scheme. And might I add that she definitely delivered. Our colors were blush, gold, and blue.

My husband had a paisley blue tuxedo jacket on with a white shirt underneath and a blue paisley bow tie, completed with black slacks and black shoes. I had on an Essence of Australia off the shoulder ivory trumpet style gown. I also had a cathedral veil on that I got from bustle bridal.

For the ceremony we had two tall vases with large round floral arrangements on top. We had the cutest sweetheart table. On the table we had a blush sparkly tablecloth with a lace on top of it. Pretty flowers draping the table lit with candles. We also had a cute high back sofa that we sat in right in front of the clear sliding doors at our venue. (At night you can see all of the outdoor lights that makes the venue look super dreamy) Our estate tables for our bridal party and immediate family members were the true wow factor of the reception space. We had chair sashes on every other chair. Our special moment was the butterfly release we did in memory of our moms who both passed away. It was a special way to honor them at our wedding.

I used fresh flowers in all of the bouquets and boutonnieres. We had a mixture of silk flowers and real greenery on the estate tables and centerpieces. It came out really pretty. I was skeptical at first with the silk flowers but we honestly saved a lot and was able to still create the look I wanted.

My husband had us trending on social media with his garter removal dance. It had our guests full of laughter and screams. I’m a Louisiana girl so a second line band was a must have. We entered into the reception with our umbrellas and our wedding party waving handkerchiefs it was a big hit! I get excited just thinking back on it. I loved the second line band it just really set the tone of our reception and had everyone up on their feet.

Advice for future Coordinated Brides: I just say be true to yourself. Don’t overthink it. Don’t sweat the small things, everything won’t go as planned but that’s what makes your special day unique. Truly enjoy the moment. It will literally be one of the best days of your life!
