Tameka and Dwyane recently said their “I Do’s” at a modern chic navy, gold and blush ceremony in a romantic vineyard in Virginia. Their story was a long time coming as they’d been dating for many years, as Tameka said. Surrounded by friends and family, the night was nothing short of magical!
Their Love Story as told by The Coordinated Bride, Tameka
Our love story began at the heart of all Southerner’s …the Waffle House. After months of ignoring Dwyane and acting as if I didn’t notice him, he finally caught me off guard and decided the time was overdue. July 2015 I decided to take Dwyane on a surprise birthday trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The weather was perfect and when we arrived he noticed a few couples having dinner on the beach. “We should see about us doing that one night” he said. Little did he know I already had that planned. We had a beautiful dinner on the beach and he said I really appreciate you. “You should get the butler to come over and record this speech I want to give you about how much I appreciate you” he said. I was really reluctant because I didn’t want to make a scene, but luckily I did. He got down on one knee on the beach with the beautiful ocean in the background…and we have it all on video!!!
Wedding Advice for Coordinated Brides:
One of the pitfalls of planning a wedding is the COST! Once you say the word wedding the price triples!!! My advice is PLAN PLAN, AND OVER PLAN! Hire a wedding planner! Even if it’s just from a coordinator perspective. And PLAN. Don’t feel you have to be married in a “timeline”. I in fact find 12 months ridiculous, lol. It can be done, especially if it is an intimate setting. But if you have a great deal of detail and desires just plan it out and don’t rush! More importantly DON’T GO IN DEBT OVER A WEDDING! You still have an abundantly happy life to live after this special moment. Don’t make new debt apart of a new financial woes.”
