This styled wedding shoot coordinated luxe boho editorial editorial vibes with a touch of whimsy, romance and fun. Hello all things Waffle cake, oversized boutonnière, custom suit, charcuterie platters and wine. Oh my! and….. The groom steals the show.
This was an actual real couple in love, the bride just happened to be a professional model. Instead of having to travel to Niagara or Prince Edward County for a winery, the shoot collaborators stumbled upon a beautiful hidden gem close to downtown Toronto (a 40-minute drive) in Stouffville, Ontario.
Willow Springs Winery is situated atop the geographical treasure known as the Oak Ridges Moraine and is complete with the renowned 11-acres Testa Vineyard. There is a dreamy koi pond surrounded by weeping willow trees that were perfect for the wedding ceremony setup. A Pampas grass and floral arch were set up with small carpets directly in front of the pond with the lanterns adorning each side of the aisle.
They took advantage of the wine barrels situated throughout the property and brought in peacock chairs for the king and queen thrones where they displayed his and her cakes. Her cake was a beautiful faux wooden bottom cake with florals, and his choice was a waffle cake with suspended Canadian maple syrup.
The charcuterie platters looked so good that they made sure to order some, along with the award-winning wines for sampling (the entire team needed to ensure it was worthy of the shoot). A not-so-funny note to mention is that as it was nearing the end of summer, the wasps and bees were out in full slow motion force. They decided that our charcuterie and wines looked very appetizing. We dodged them by running, screaming and eating and drinking the wines as fast as we could. Some of us more than others… It was such a windy day that the linens and menus kept flying up and off of the table, along with the model bride’s hair kept ending up in her face along with my dress flying over my head several times. My favourite part of the shoot was when the model bride’s mother came to pick them up at the end of the shoot, and she started crying because she was envisioning their real nuptials taking place. She called her sister on the phone and was giving her a recap of every detail. ~ Tracey Manailescu of Tracey M Events
