Monica and Stephen said “I Do” May 13, 2017 in the beautiful backyard of Stephen’s mother and step-father off the water in Lodi, California. A Christmas proposal lead to 1.5 years of the engagement and then their dream Spring wedding.
From The Coordinated Bride Monica:
Like most brides, I have dreamt of my ideal wedding since I was a little girl. When my dream mate asked me to marry him I knew it was time to get into gear and begin creating that very dream day. Together, we were able to have all those dreams become reality. I always wanted a spring wedding to enjoy all of nature’s gorgeous greens and florals. The theme of our wedding was to convey a chic, vintage garden, which was easily achievable in such a gorgeous setting.
Stephen, my new HUSBAND, and I met six years ago. We lived in two different cities for a year and then decided to both take a leap of faith and move away to a new city for us both. We moved to Sacramento to start our life together and before we knew it we were two love birds engaged. Now we are two love birds married. Each stage of life we have explored together has been nothing short of amazing thus far and we are ecstatic for the future chapters.
I am, by nature, a pretty crafty lady. I knew I wanted to include a number of DIY crafts in the wedding. I always have believed that the fine details of a wedding are what bring a good wedding to an amazing wedding. I wanted to be sure each craft was created with love and included the exact details envisioned in my mind. I created multiple signs, paper flowers to indicate what table each guest was assigned to and much more.
We wanted to create a space that was fun and enjoyable for all of our guests. We had a game section with vintage furnature, giant connect four and a giant jenga. We had a photo booth for guests to take fun pictures and of course the dance floor to get crazy on.
The best part of our special day was exchanging our personal, written vows and sharing them with all of our loved ones. If I were to give any advise to future brides it would be to soak in the beauty of all the emotions of the day, as it will fly by. Our special day far exceeded any and all dreams I had and could possibly have had. I married my dream mate and on a dreamy day all of our dreams came true.
Congratulations to the couple and special thanks to Kate Fretland for sharing these stunning images!
