Roderick and Monet met back in 2009 and now they are preparing to walk down the aisle on June 5, 2016. Today, we are very excited to share their love story and engagement images by Jaxon Photogroup.
From the Bride to Be
How we met
Our story began one beautiful Sunday afternoon in December of 2009. We met at a Christmas Party and instantly became friends. Developing a friendship first, we spent many hours talking on the phone like teenagers in high school. We discussed past relationships and future ambitions only to find that we had similar “war wounds” from love. It’s amazing how love will find you, totally captivate you and transform you all in the blink of an eye. Who knew that between us we would create a love so substantial that it would challenge us to become better people to each other and to ourselves. After five years of dating, it was time to make things official. We are beyond blessed to share a love that we once only dreamed of.
The Proposal
While visiting Las Vegas, we took a day trip to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. After walking around to sight-see for awhile, I suggested that we sit on a rock to simply absorb the beautiful scenery. Once seated on the rock, Roderick jokingly said, “Hey speaking of rocks, I’ve got a rock” and as I turned around – in his hand was the most beautiful diamond ring.
