Bridal and Bash

You get a proposal! You get a proposal! You get a proposal! *In my Oprah (you get a car voice)….OR at least that what everyone thinks.

When it comes to choosing your wedding party go with your first instinct. In my opinion, being a part of someone’s wedding party is a privilege and an honor. It’s not as easy as people think narrowing it down but if you go with your first instinct (which in my case is usually going with the feeling in my heart) then you should be fine. When it came down to choosing my Bridesmaids and others in the wedding party I did not worry about hurting someone’s feelings because it’s my wedding so I get to choose who I want to be by my side on my BIG day. If we are friends and if you love me there should not be any hard feelings about if you were chosen or not. Just like everyone can’t be invited to the wedding (well unless you are rich and you have it like that) everyone can’t be in the wedding party. So, before I even get into how I proposed to my party let me say to all of the readers: be comfortable with who you have chosen, choose people who will be by your side through it all, individuals who have no jealousy or any envy towards you, individuals who love you and your soon to be husband or wife, individuals who will put the bride-to-be’s feelings first, and most Importantly choose people who will understand that the journey won’t be peaches and crème but it’ll be worth it when the wedding day comes!

When it came down to how I wanted to pop the big question to my ladies I wanted it to be special! I decided to bring out the DIY in me to make their proposal gifts very personable. Oh and did this take time but it was worth it seeing their reaction once they received their boxes.

#SejGang- My Bridesmaids

For my Maid of Honor and my Bridesmaids they each received a personalized box. In their box there was a bedazzled wine glass (a bottle of liquor was supposed to be in the box as well) but since I am away from everyone and had to mail the boxes to them liquor could not be included. In addition to the wine glass there was a personalized greeting card with a poem that I wrote for each of them, the initial of their first name spray painted purple, a bag of candy, and a picture of us together.

I can’t leave out other members of the #ForeverTheBrownlees wedding party so I proposed to them all.

#SejGang- My Junior Bridesmaids

My Junior Bridesmaids received a personalized greeting card with a poem that I wrote for each of them, a personalized tumbler with their name on the front, title on the back and the wedding the wedding date. They also received a goodie bag with candy and purple nail polish.

#SejGang- My Flower girls

My flower girls received personalized puzzles. When they put their puzzle together it read their name and the question “Will you please be our Flower Girl? Sejal and Jermaine-August 20, 2016. Their puzzle was placed in a bedazzled glitter box and included a goodie bag with candy, stickers, and purple nail polish.

#SejGang- My Dream Team

I sent out invitations to my Dream Team as well. What is a Dream team you say? My dream team consists of my hair stylist, make-up artists, my right hand women and Jermaine’s right hand man, and social coordinators. All of these people will play key roles on the big day.

#MaineGang- His Groomsmen

For my fiancé’s Best Man and Groomsmen they were sent personalized greeting cards, a personalized shot glass with their name and our wedding date, and a cigar. These guys are all like brothers to Jermaine and I and are all important as well. We couldn’t imagine our special day without them.

#SejAndMaineGang- Our Ring Security and Ring Bearer

Of course we needed security and a carrier for my bling!! Our ring bearer and ring security received a box that included a personalized greeting card, sunglasses and a goodie bag with candy and an avenger ring pop.

It was fun making and putting together everyone’s proposal. It was even more exciting knowing that they appreciated it, everyone accepted their roles, and were happy for us. After all of the proposals went out I set up a Bridesmaids Mix and Mingle with my Ladies which turned out to be a huge success.
