“With a Little Help From My Friends”

In the words of Joe Cocker, “I get by with a little help from my friends..”. How true is this statement?! Although I like to think I am a very independent woman, I consistently look to my friends for their advice, guidance, and words of wisdom. My group of 10 (yes, 10!!) bridesmaids are some of the most amazing, thoughtful, caring and generous women I have ever met. These ladies have all impacted a certain part of my life and I am so grateful to have them with me on my wedding day. After my fiancé proposed to me in April of 2016, I immediately started thinking about all of the planning we had to get done. We selected a date that was less than a year away so the clock was ticking. I knew the first thing I wanted to do was let my nearest and dearest friends know that I couldn’t do this without them and ask them to be by my side on my special day. I knew that I wanted to make their Bridesmaid Proposal a very special day so I quickly started to Pinterest, Etsy, and Instagram hashtag search some unique ideas.

Working with ten conflicting schedules can be difficult but I was able to find one day this Summer that worked for everyone! I asked my bridesmaids to come over for a Brunch that I was hosting. I did not want to let them know what the purpose of the Brunch was but the entire afternoon would be geared towards them! This afternoon just so happened to collide with my first morning wedding dress shopping. I had a few of the ladies join me earlier in the day to begin trying on dresses. The morning wedding dress shopping really got us in the spirit and I could not wait to get back to my apartment and surprise everyone with some of the items I had gotten for them.

Flashback to the weeks prior to Bridal Party Brunch… I had gotten some great ideas from Pinterest and knew that I wanted to make a Bridesmaid Box for the girls. I found amazing stores on Etsy that can create wine bottle labels for any occasion. I ordered 10 labels which asked the ladies to be a bridesmaid and glued them on to my favorite bottle of prosecco. Along with the bubbly, I created block letters with the ladies initials and flowers matching my overall color scheme. Combined with “BEST DAY EVER” glasses, Hershey Kisses, Lip Balm, and note pads for future planning, these boxes were complete! I assembled all of the boxes and had them lined up waiting for the girl’s arrival. We had an amazing afternoon filled with appetizer, champagne, and lots of laughs.

With all of the wedding planning and events, I am confident that I chose the best women to stand by my side. Each of them are consistently there to provide ideas, guidance and overall support throughout this entire process!

Until Next Time!
