A Proposal for a Proposal

Getting engaged to the love of my life and best friend was an absolute dream come true! Days, even weeks after, I was still floating on cloud nine. I began imagining what dress I would say yes to, how many guests we’d have witness our joyous occasion, and so much more. Once I settled into engaged life, I knew it was time for the next best step which was proposing to my bridesmaids. Some brides might make a quick phone call, shoot a text, or even send an email, but anyone who knows me knows I have to be a bit craftier! Here is how I proposed to my bridesmaids…

POP ME!

I surprised my Maid of Honor by sending her a beautifully wrapped proposal package from MySouthernSpirit. Inside the box, which was wrapped with a ribbon and customized with her name, was a balloon that had a “POP ME” note and a safety pin attached. Once she popped the balloon, she discovered the custom note asking her “WILL YOU BE MY MAID OF HONOR?”

A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS

I am a huge fan of personalization and pictures. I had to find a way to use both to propose to my bridesmaids yet also making it something they could have as a keepsake. I gathered a few old and recent pictures of myself with each of my bridesmaids and had custom proposal cards made. These were an absolute success!

A PROPOSAL FOR A PROPOSAL

For me, asking my bridesmaids to be by my side on one of the biggest days of my life was a big task. These women will have to hold my dress, throw me the best bachelorette party ever, listen to my frustrations, and so much more. What better way to propose than to propose! This custom proposal box was made to ask the big question using a paper trail on string and included the perfect ring!

MAKE IT FUN!

I enjoyed proposing to my bridesmaids but mostly I enjoyed making it interactive. For this reason, I went with another fun proposal. This balloon proposal came custom with one of my bridesmaid’s name and gave her direct instructions. Once she inflated the balloon, she was able fully read her personal message asking to be my bridesmaid.

Bridesmaid proposals are certainly what you make them. I thoroughly enjoyed putting my personality, time, and creativity into each of them. These proposals, just like all the moments on this journey down the aisle, are once in a lifetime and my best advice is to make it unforgettable!

XO,
