Journal Entry #3

Traveling from Miss to Mrs

“Love knows no borders.” That’s what Prince and I live by, I mean, we’re walking proof. He’s Indian, and I’m mixed with Caucasian and African-American. We also love to travel. LOVE IT. We’ve visited six different countries together and we can add three or four separately to that count. It made every bit of sense to have a “Traveling from Miss to Mrs.” shower, and that I did.

I am a bit controlling and love to fill my plate, so I had say on every single piece of my bridal shower, but my mom and sister did a fantastic job pulling it all together. We decided to host my bridal shower at Tilly’s Tea Room, which resides on the top floor of Saks Fifth Avenue in Indianapolis, Indiana. The chandeliers, the couches, the wallpaper, the tea, I mean it was perfect!

Prince got down on one knee in front of the Eiffel Tower, if you missed that journal entry, click here.  And with my obsession with small details, every Eiffel Tower thing we found, we bought. The flowers vases: Eiffel Towers. The cake topper: Eiffel Tower. The “photo booth” background: a 6-foot cardboard Eiffel Tower. My Snapchat geofilter: Eiffel Tower. My to-go cake boxes: you get the point!

I truly felt like a princess who walked into a real-life Pinterest bridal shower. The luggage to hold my cards, the globe cake pops, the “luggage drop off” gift table sign and the calligraphy welcome sign were my favorite. “69 Days Until the True Adventure Begins!” My sister and mom put together a “Guess the Bride’s Age” game, a “Bridal Shower Pass Book” game, a “What Did The Bride Say” game and finally “What Did He Say About His Bride?” game. You guessed it, the prizes were travel themed.  Again, perfect! I can’t think of a better theme to send me on my way to becoming Mrs. Singh.

My advice to brides on their bridal shower: Be over-the-top if you want! The more personalization, the better. This is your time to shine, and you only get this day once. Also, have a friend photograph everything. I did, and I am so happy I did. I am able to relive it over and over again. It’s all a part of the process, a process you won’t get back and one you’ll want to remember for the rest of your life.

Now, come on July 7!

XOXO,

Stephanie
