Carolyn and Scott met while they both were sophomores at Boston College and soon after became close friends. As Carolyn states, “We ‘college dated’ then actually dated after graduation at the most opportune time” (when Scott was moving to California to pursue a higher degree in Chemistry). The couple continued to have a long distance relationship for the next couple of years but It wasn’t until six years ago that they made the 3,000 mile roadtrip out from California to New York to be on the same coast. In December 2015, Scott proposed in Iceland in a live geyser field, asking Carolyn to spend the rest of her life with him to live a life of adventure… and Carolyn’s response was “of course, you idiot.”  After nine total years together they’ve survived living in six separate apartments, made the move from a total of four different cities and now finally both live in one apartment in Chelsea together!

When asked for advice to future brides Carolyn stated “I would recommend to every bride to try to finance as much of the wedding as possible jointly with the groom. That way, you and your fiance don’t have to feel obligated to anyone else and you can truly be empowered to make all of the decisions related to the wedding.  I would also recommend getting a wedding planner to help with as much of the wedding as possible. And if not a full service coordinator, then a day-of one so you don’t have to worry about the small things and just relax. Finally, definitely eat as much as possible. I tried to do this but the number of times people come up to congratulate you is pretty high and you’re left partially finishing your canape or dinner!”
