Ebonee and Brendon had a glam New York wedding at The Inn at New Hyde Park on July 24, 2017.
From the Coordinated Bride, Ebonee
Brendon and I are both Native New Yorkers and our story began at Jamaica HS in Queens, NY where we met. We dated during our junior and senior years, and even went to senior prom together. After high school we were not ready to separate. However, blessed with wisdom beyond our years, we both agreed to press the pause button on our relationship. I journeyed off to North Carolina to attend The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill while Brendon traveled to New Jersey to attend Rutgers University.
Fifteen years later, Brendon and I re-connected when a mutual friend from high school invited us both to her baby shower. The very next day we met up again when Brendon’s mother threw him a surprise birthday dinner and invited his old high school friends to join. These two encounters provided the spark that rekindled our love.
One and a half years into dating “again”, we planned a trip to Disney’s Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida. We spent the entire day getting on rides, laughing and truly enjoying each other’s company. At the end of the night Brendon had secured us spots at a dessert buffet directly in front of the Magic Kingdom. We had front row seats to view the fireworks! I was so excited. It was during the firework show (as I was looking up) that Brendon stated he wished that the rest of our life together would be as magical as the day we just had. I agreed; and in this moment I looked down to find him on bended knee holding my engagement ring and asking to be his forever. Of course I said yes!
Once the wedding planning began I knew the theme for our wedding had to be “Timeless Romance” it was a classic case of “If you love something, let it go and if it is meant to be, it will return to you.” My vision for this theme involved an outdoor ceremony space and a reception draped in blush, ivory, and touches of gold.
From the sparkley Badgley Mischka wedding shoes that coordinated beautifully with the bride’s bouquet to the sparkler send off at the end of the night, Ebonee and Brendon’s wedding day was as magical as their love story. Congrats to the couple and special thanks to NST Pictures for sharing their story. Be sure to check out the wedding highlight video by NST Pictures at the end of the blog post!
